Information on accommodation available on this holiday.

The settlement of Voe, at the head of Ronas Voe in North Mainland, is noted for the Scandinavian style of its buildings.

Over 1 million seabirds, 10 thousand seals, 1,000 otters and 800 species of wildflower ...

DAY 1 - Depart Aberdeen at 17.00 or 19.00 on-board the NorthLink cruise ferry and sail overnight in your comfortable en-suite twin outer cabin.

Shetland - You arrive in Lerwick at 07.30. Breakfast is served until 09.00 (not included in the holiday price) and you can stay on board until 10.00.

The spectacular scenery makes Shetland one of the best places in Britain for wildlife watching.
Boat trips get you close to cliffs teeming with thousands of seabirds at Noss Nature Reserve while seals bob around. A short ferry journey transports you to the tranquil island of Mousa, home to an Iron Age Broch over 2,000 years old with beehive chambers and galleries.

The ancient Jarlshof settlement spans 3,000 years from the Stone Age. Nearby is the RSPB Reserve at Sumburgh Head. You can also visit Britain's most northerly islands of Yell and Unst.

DAY 5 or 7 - Visit a favourite site before sailing from Lerwick at 17.30 or 19.00 in your en-suite twin outer cabin. You arrive in Aberdeen at 07.00 the following morning. The last disembarkation is 10.00.

Shetland

There are over 100 islands, 14 of which are inhabited. They offer hugely contrasting landscapes and coastline deeply indented with 'voes' like mini-fjords. Nowhere is further than 3 miles from the sea. The Islanders have a rich tradition of crafts and fiddle music.

Day seems to never end in summer, while September & October bring the most dramatic northern sunsets - even the Aurora Borealis or 'Northern Lights'.

Walking is a special joy in Shetland, with beautiful beaches, striking coastal scenery, quiet inland lochs and abundant wildlife.
